Job Description:

As the Lead AI Engineer at Floog, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our AI strategy. We are seeking an experienced engineer to spearhead our LLM development team.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in AI and machine learning, with specific expertise in designing and implementing large-scale language models.

You will play a crucial role in the architecture, development, and deployment of our bespoke LLM, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality product.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of the bespoke LLM, including architecture decisions, algorithm selection, and system optimisation.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate AI components, ensuring seamless performance and scalability.
Oversee the collection, cleaning, and processing of vast datasets to train and refine the language model.
Implement best practices in machine learning and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI and machine learning to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into our platform.
Mentor engineers and data scientists, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Communicate technical concepts and progress to non-technical team members and stakeholders.

Requirements:

Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in AI and machine learning, with a proven track record in large language model development.

Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques and tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Excellent leadership skills and experience managing a team of technical staff.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.
